The Energy Smart Home Lab - Selected Landmark 2012
Das Energy Smart Home Lab des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT) ist im Rahmen des Projekts MeRegioMobil ein „Ausgewählter Ort 2012“ im Land der Ideen. Damit gehört es zu den Preisträgern im Wettbewerb „365 Orte im Land der Ideen“, der von der Standortinitiative „Deutschland – Land der Ideen“ in Kooperation mit der Deutschen Bank durchgeführt wird.
Die Initiative unter der Schirmherrschaft des Bundespräsidenten und die Deutsche Bank prämieren jährlich 365 herausragende Projekte und Ideen, die einen nachhaltigen Beitrag zur Zukunftsfähigkeit Deutschlands leisten. Als Preisträger ist das Energy Smart Home Lab im Jahr 2012 Botschafter für das Land der Ideen und repräsentiert das Innovationspotenzial Deutschlands.
Um seine Idee für die Öffentlichkeit erlebbar zu machen, präsentiert sich das Smart Home anlässlich der Preisverleihung mit einem Tag der offenen Tür am 2. März 2012.

Further impressions of the opening of the Smart Home
The smart home of the MeRegioMobil research initiative on the premises of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is now ready for occupancy. The prefabricated house covering an area of about 80 square meters is a prototype of an energy-efficient household of the future. Electric vehicles are integrated in the intelligent control of this household as electricity storage devices and consumers. The smart home is equipped with the typical elements such as generators, consumers, and energy storage devices and will now be tested by its inhabitants.
Journalists were cordially invited to the opening on November 5th, 2010 and to join the subsequent tour of the smart home on the premises of the KIT-Campus.
